From Crested Butte or Gunnison, Colorado, drive HWY 135 to the small but obvious village of Almont. Turn easterly off main highway and follow Road 742 for 26 miles of what can be intense winter driving to Taylor Park Reservoir and obvious parking at Taylor Park Trading Post. Be sure you're equipped with quality snow tires and survival gear for this drive. The trading post is said to rent cabins and have a cafe. Reports on that appreciated.

This book goes great with our maps, highly recommended for any hut skier.
